The Gago Boots design is our tribute to one of the greatest Portuguese geographer and aviator, Gago Coutinho. Just like him, this boots holds a certain simplicity and urban touch.
Gago Coutinho became famous that, together with Sacadura Cabral, he made the first air crossing of the South Atlantic. During his career he performed geodetic works in Angola and S. Tomé. His geography knowledge and ability to study and find guidance solutions led Sacadura Cabral to invite him to participate in the South Atlantic crossing.
It was during this trip that you tested a sextant designed by you, capable of ensuring accurate navigation even in air travel. The device would be used for air navigation around the world for decades to come.
At the end of his career he conducted and published several studies on Portuguese navigations during the discoveries.
Gago Coutinho’ courage and multidisciplinary inspired us to create this boot design. Like him, these boots are ready for any adventure, any adversity, representing the strength, bravery and resilience of all Portuguese people.
